Case Study

Whiston HCRC involves a complex decanting and demolition of the existing outmoded health centre which is considerably limiting the range of services that are needed for this area. Bounded by a Green Belt area and working around redundant mine workings, the centre, arranged over 3 storeys, forms a key focus to a community related hub including a community centre and family planning centre.

As part of the new health facility, a multi-use games pitch has been provided which is already in full use by the local community. The extended build programme of 15 months allows for the phased provision of landscaping and car parking on the former health centre site once the new centre is commissioned but critically ensuring that the existing centre remains fully operable throughout the process.
