A new fire and ambulance station is set to be built in Wigan, with fire crews and paramedics working side by side.
The station will replace the existing fire station in Robin Park Road in the centre of Wigan and will see crews and paramedics come together under one roof
The move to co-locate will help bosses save cash in the face of further savings. It is also hoped the new building will allow services to reduce their carbon footprint by being on one site.
