TACE Supports Future Engineers at GMIOT & Wigan & Leigh College at Careers Quest Event

TACE was pleased to attend the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology Careers Quest: Engineering & Construction event alongside Willmott Dixon and Dodd Group, held at Wigan & Leigh College and University Centre.

The event was aimed at Level 3 students, providing them with a clearer understanding of the career pathways available within the engineering and construction sector and highlighting the opportunities open to them as they progress from education into industry.

As part of the day, the TACE team spoke with students about the Wigan & Leigh College campus development, which is currently underway and being delivered by Willmott Dixon in collaboration with TACE. By discussing the scheme and sharing models of the new building, students were able to see how design, coordination and construction come together on a live project, particularly one that will directly impact their own learning environment.

We also engaged with students to explain the role of Building Services engineering, the importance it plays within modern construction, and how the industry continues to evolve. TACE representatives Sam and Luke shared their own routes into engineering, offering practical insight into the varied pathways available. Both later took part in a Q&A panel, answering questions from students and providing honest, first‑hand perspectives on starting a career in the sector.
