Once complete Bankside Gardens (Phase 6 of the GPV development) will include 459 homes delivered across seven tower blocks along with an associated gym and new retail units on the outskirts of the town.
All seven blocks are linked to a central, low carbon energy centre in order to meet the ambitious planning target of off-setting at least 20% of the predicted CO2 emissions from the completed and occupied development.
The project has incorporated the on-site generation of energy from renewable sources and energy efficient design measures (including the use of CHP where appropriate) to achieve its sustainability goals. Each apartment utilises heat interface units, MVHR and PV to achieve these efficiency requirements.
We developed the design for the scheme from concept through to technical design and are now monitoring the on site installation for the design and build contractor.
