Bluebell Lane in Huyton, Liverpool was developed as one of fifteen schemes delivered by TACE in partnership with St Helens Knowsley LIFT scheme.
Bluebell Primary Care Resource Centre houses four GP practices and a range of community based health and social care services. The scheme was one of the first health care buildings to be awarded a BREEAM Excellent rating & was also the first building in the UK to use commercial Passivhaus design.
TACE designed under-floor heating provided by ASHP, domestic piped services from CO2 condensers and solar thermal, high heat recovery ventilation in excess of 70% as well as low energy lighting systems, small power, security and IT. The building was also designed to be thermally stable and has never needed more than 4⁰C of heat added, even in winter. All of this has led to an 80% reduction in energy on site.
